CampusWorld is a campus community app designed for college and university students. We connect students with campus events, communities, deals, and each other. Your trust is fundamental to everything we do, and we take our responsibility to protect your personal information seriously.

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated as you use our Services, and information from third-party sources.

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, university/college affiliation, graduation year, and profile photo.
  • Profile Data: Major, areas of interest, clubs and communities you join, and any additional information you choose to add to your profile.
  • Communications: Messages you send to other students or communities within the app.
  • User Content: Posts, comments, event RSVPs, and other content you create or share on CampusWorld.
  • Feedback: Any feedback, bug reports, or support requests you submit.

Information Generated Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, time spent in the app, search queries, and interactions with content.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, device identifiers, browser type, and IP address.
  • Location Data: With your permission, approximate location to show relevant campus events and deals near you.
  • Log Data: Server logs including access times, errors, and crash reports.

Information from Third Parties

  • Social Login: If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information as permitted by those services.
  • Campus Verification: We may receive limited information from your educational institution to verify your student status.

  • Service Delivery: To create and maintain your account, enable you to connect with other students, discover events, join communities, and access campus deals.

  • Communications: To send you notifications about events, community updates, direct messages, and important service announcements. You can control notification preferences in your settings.
  • Safety and Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and other harmful activities on the platform.
  • Analytics and Improvement: To understand how students use CampusWorld, identify issues, and improve features and performance.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
  • Research: To conduct internal research and analysis to improve our Services (using aggregated, anonymized data).

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with our Services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  • Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • After Deletion: When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to retain it for legal obligations or legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).
  • Backups: Deleted information may persist in backup copies for up to 90 days before being fully removed from all systems.
  • Content: User-generated content (posts, comments) may be retained in anonymized form for platform integrity and moderation purposes.

  • Opt-Out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time by adjusting your notification settings or clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email.
  • Location Data: You can withdraw consent for location tracking at any time through your device settings.

CampusWorld integrates with certain third-party services to provide features and functionality. These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them:

  • Authentication Providers: Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In are subject to Google's and Apple's respective privacy policies.
  • Analytics: We use analytics tools to understand app usage. These tools collect anonymized, aggregated data.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Our app is hosted on reputable cloud infrastructure providers that maintain high security and compliance standards.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services linked from CampusWorld.
